Friday Fitness
During April, Barb Marr will lead a fitness class from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This drop-in class costs $3 for members and $5 for non-members. There will be no class on April 22.
Pilates Class
In an effort to keep seniors moving, Pilates exercises will be led by Fitness by Kristen on Friday mornings at 9 a.m. The cost is $5 drop-in for members of the senior center and $7 for non-members. The first class is free. This is a mat class which offers a unique blend of pilates, yoga and ab exercises. You will focus on core and ab work while strengthening arms, legs and glutes. This is an invigorating workout.
Monthly Birthday Celebration
Members of the center whose birthdays are in April will celebrate with a free lunch at the center on April 20 at noon. Reservations must be made by calling 426-5397 by noon on April 19. In addition, seniors can ride the WAVE bus, free on their birthday. The phone number for the WAVE is 734-475-9494. A special entertainment, a wonderful decorated cake from Busch's and good fellowship complete the birthday celebration.
Pinochle Players
Beginning on April 19, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. seniors can play pinochle at the center. Anyone interested is welcome to join.
Senior Swim
Seniors can swim from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the community pool next to Wylie Elementary School. There is a light exercise in the water for those who wish to do it. The pool will be closed April 22 and May 30, for Good Friday and Memorial Day observances. Passes are available at the Community Services Offices at the pool.
Property Tax Questions
A representative from Webster Township will be at the Dexter Senior Center on April 18, at 9:30 a.m. to answer questions regarding property taxes. This is for residents of any township in the area with questions.
Senior Center Closed
The senior center will be closed on April 22. Home-delivered meals and meals at the center will take place.
Chess Players Sought
If you like to play chess, call Director Kim at 734-426-7737. She would like to get a chess group going on Thursday afternoons.
