Dexter United Methodist Church Hosts Community Potluck

Dexter United Methodist Church will host a community potluck and concert at the church on Thursday.

The dinner will take place at 6:15 p.m., followed by a free one-hour concert of Disney music beginning at 7 p.m.

"This event will be fun and humorous, with something for the whole family," pastor Matt Hook said. "From big band arrangements with tight vocals, to old classics, you’ll be singing along."

The vocalists include Trevor St John Gilbert (musical theater student from the University of Michigan), Louis Anthony Smith (recording artist), Matt Hook (senior pastor), Sue Aeschliman (recording artist), Robin Woodard (choir director), and Gretchen Wolfe (songstress). Musicians are Gordon Darr and Elsi Sly.

Songs include "The Mickey Mouse Club Theme," and popular hits from Mary Poppins, Song of the South, Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Aladdin, The Lion King, Dumbo, Mulan, Hercules, Snow White, Tangled, and Pinocchio.
