Community Briefs: Charles Reinhart Company Holds Coat Drive; A.R. Brouwer Architect Seminar Planned

Charles Reinhart company hosts 16th annual winter coat drive

The Charles Reinhart Company is hosting its 16th annual winter coat drive with the goal of collecting more than 1,500 adult and children’s coats.

Through November, Charles Reinhart Company realtors will be collecting new and gently used winter coats at all of the Charles Reinhart sales offices as well as all Sunday open houses. Dexter families can drop off coats at 800 South Main St. in Chelsea or visit www.ReinhartRealtors.com for an alternative location.

Capital Cleaners, Chelsea Cleaners, Gold Bond Cleaners and Forbes Cleaners will professionally clean the coats before they are donated to more than 20 local agencies.

“In these difficult economic times, this is an event our agents have embraced and the local community has supported for 15 years,” said Bill Miller, general manager of the Charles Reinhart Company.  “We are very proud to continue this endeavor and look forward to providing the warmth needed for those less fortunate in our communities.”

Over its 15-year history, the Charles Reinhart Company has collected more than 14,500 coats.

A.R. Brouwer plans architect seminar

On Nov. 11, JPRA Architects and of Dexter will host an architectural event at the newly renovated Weber's Inn Hotel.

Presentations by owner Ken Weber, Mark von Werder and Eileen Devine of JPRA Architects, and Steve Brouwer, president of A.R. Brouwer Company, will discuss the growing trend of renovating existing spaces versus constructing new buildings in Michigan's current economic climate.

Local government officials and University of Michigan and Taubman College of Architecture faculty and staff will be in attendance.
