CPA2Biz Marketing Company Opens Branch in Dexter

CPA2Biz, a subsidiary of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, opened its doors in Dexter on Monday.

The marketing and technology firm provides products such as publications, webcasts, virtual conferences, cloud-based software and continuing professional education to CPAs and financial professionals nationwide.

"I think Dexter is a great place to grow our business," CEO Erik Asgeirsson said. "We support 45,000 accounting firms across the United States, and Dexter is centrally located to be able to service the east, west and southern regions of the country."

Michael Cerami, vice president of corporate alliances, said the decision to open the Dexter branch came after hiring David Pollak, the company's vice president of sales, and a longtime Dexter resident.

"Dave resides (in the community) and there's this great talent pool right here in Southeast Michigan," Cerami said. "The good education system gives us the opportunity to bring quality individuals into the organization."

The company also has locations in New York City, Santa Clara, Calif., and Durham, N.C.

"Anytime a business opens in Dexter, it's a great thing," village president Shawn Keough said. "Dexter is a special community. It's a place that values families, and we also try to help businesses grow and succeed. Businesses like CPA2Biz are great for our local economy."

Asgeirsson said the Dexter branch currently has 10 employees, but could double in size within the next 18 months.

"Our sales force could easily double in size during the next year," he said. "We'll try to maintain the Dexter growth rate."
