Dexter Boys Finish Eighth at Cross-Country State Finals
The Dreadnaughts were one of three Washtenaw County teams to finish in the top 10 at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.
BROOKLYN — The Dexter High School varsity boys' cross-country team was one of three Washtenaw County teams to finish in the top eight in the Division 1 state finals on Saturday.
The team finished with 286 points and was led by senior Matt Greve (15:49.1).
Other top times include: Joe Wendorf, 16:03.3; Alexey Vermeulen, 16:12.5; Mike Hauke,16:14.7; Blake Loudermilk, 16:55.3; Luke Bottomley, 17:38.8; and Casey Hanson, 18:00.
The Dexter varsity girls finished in the top 25.
Top times include: Alison McLean, 19:04.7; Alexandra Ammann, 19:16.1; Robin Jackson, 19:44.5; Cailin McLean, 20:00.6; Elizabeth Greve, 20:07.6; Paige O'Piela, 20:24.9; and Rylee Hanson, 20:47.0.

To the girls' achievements, I would add that both Alison McLean and Alex Ammann ran their best times ever, with Alison finishing as the 14th fastest freshman at states and Alex as the 24th fastest sophomore. Way to go!
The girls' race at 228 total runners, while the boys' had 251.
