Dexter, Chelsea Teens Vie for Chelsea Community Fair Queen Crown

Queen Kennedy Aldrich will crown her successor at Friday's pageant.

Kennedy Aldrich is enjoying the final week of her reign as queen before crowning a new queen at 7 p.m. Friday. Ahead of Friday's pageant, which will be held in the multipurpose arena at the Chelsea Fairgrounds, Dexter Patch has profiled each of the candidates.

Chelsea Brown

Chelsea Brown, a senior, is the daughter of Noel and Melissa Brown. She is active in soccer, swimming, softball and cheer. She also enjoys hunting and fishing, listening to music and hanging out with her parents and her sisters, Brittany and Megan. She has given back to the Dexter community by taking part in a local can food drive. She will sing for her talent display in the pageant. Chelsea, who plans to become a nurse anesthetist, is sponsored by Noel T. Brown Custom Homes Inc.

Michelle Flaugher

Michelle Flaugher is a junior at Chelsea High School, where she plays soccer. She is also on the cheerleading squad and will perform a cheer for her talent part of the contest. The daughter of Mark and Careylynn Flaugher, Michelle has volunteered at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Chelsea Recreation Center and with the youth group at her church. She enjoys reading, biking, camping and running, and she hopes to become a hospital head nurse. She is sponsored by Anytime Fitness of Chelsea.

Amanda Johnson

Amanda Johnson will be a senior at Chelsea High School this fall, where she has been on the high honor roll for three years. She enjoys soccer and is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association Southeastern Conference and district championship soccer team. She is a 4-H member and has earned 4-H medals for beef, swine, goats and food and nutrition, and she has won trophies at the Chelsea Community Fair and 4-H Show. Amanda is involved in her church youth group and takes part in the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She enjoys working with animals and raising show goats, and she will show her goat for her talent portion. The daughter of Dave and Becky Johnson of Chelsea, Amanda plans to earn a nursing degree and work in the University of Michigan Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Amanda is sponsored by Heim Gardens.

Hannah Linteau

Hannah Linteau, the daughter of Mark and Marguerite Linteau, is on the honor roll at Chelsea High School, where she is going into her junior year. She is captain of the varsity equestrian team, and her talent for the pageant will be horsemanship. Active with 4-H, Meals on Wheels and Adopt a Family, she also enjoys water and snow skiing, camping and spending time with family and friends. She loves animals and plans a career as a small-animal veterinarian. She is sponsored by Thompson’s Pizzeria in Chelsea.

Morgan Kern

Morgan is the daughter of Kevin and Jillian Kern of Chelsea. She is active in drama and dance and in her church youth group. She also enjoys sewing and playing the fiddle and banjo. Her career goal is to become a psychologist. Morgan is sponsored by Rogers Corners 4-H Club, Kern Auto Sales & Service and Hearts & Flowers.
