Five Things You Need to Know: Week of Jan. 24

Here is a rundown of what is going on around Dexter this week.

 

1. Jazzercise Dexter Fitness Center One-Day Sale.

Looking to get fit for the new year? Jazzercise Dexter Fitness Center is having a sale Monday for one day only.  New customers can register for Jazzercise classes and get unlimited access for only $29 per month for the first three months. 2. Dexter District Library hosts ‘Drop-In Sip-n-Stitch’

Pack up your knitting and/or needle projects and head to the library for an evening of crafting and conversation.  This program is for teens and adults and will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.  No pre-registration is required.  Visit the library's Web site for more information.

3. Eat out and support the Educational Foundation of Dexter

Purchase lunch, dinner, drinks and/or gift certificates on Thursday at North Point Seafood & Steakhouse in Dexter and 10 percent of your purchase will go to the Educational Foundation of Dexter to fund innovative educational projects.  Contact North Point at 734-424-2700 for more information.

4. Cornerstone Family Movie Night

Pack up your picnic dinner and a comfy blanket and head to Cornerstone Elementary School on Friday for a fun movie night.  Baked goods and water will be available for a nominal cost.  The featured movie is ‘Curious George.’  The movie starts at 6:30 p.m.

5. “Chillin’ at the Mills” at Hudson Mills Metropark

Enjoy some outdoor family fun for the whole family at Hudson Mills Metropark from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Activities include dog sledding, shelter building (using recycled Christmas trees), and Native American kids’ games and snowshoeing.  

Admission to the event is $6.50 per person which includes all of the activities as well as lunch (hot dog, chips and a drink).  Visitors without an annual park pass will also be required to pay the $5 parking fee. For more information, call 734-426-8211.
