Girl Scouts Host Winter Festival at Hudson Mills Metropark
Families can enjoy dog sledding demonstrations, scavenger hunts, and other outdoor winter events on Jan. 26.
Don’t hide from the cold – get out and have a day of winter fun on Jan. 26 at Hudson Mills Metropark.
Try a variety of activities, including snow shoeing, snowsnake tossing and Klondike racing, and see dog sledding demonstrations or explore your senses on a scavenger hunt. Activities are subject to change, depending on weather conditions.
After exploring the park, families can head to the Activity Center to warm up with hot chocolate and make a craft to take home. This is a family and Cub Scout festival. Brownies will earn the senses badge and Junior Girl Scouts will complete activities for the Journey Get Moving: Energy Insights from Wilderness & Wildlife badge.
The event is sponsored by the Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Council, REI and the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.
An event patch is available for $1.50. Program fee is $3 per person or $7.50 per person, which includes lunch. Preregistration and prepayment are required.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
