Dita Albert, election chairwoman for Webster Township Precinct 3 said she is expecting a decent turnout this year. As of noon, 140 ballots had been cast.

"We usually get a big push right around 4 p.m., when people start getting off of work," she said.

Earlier today, other Dexter area townships were reporting lighter turnout.

"Turnout has been extremely light," Joyce Jackson, election supervisor for Scio Township precincts 2 and 3. "Historically these precincts have a heavy turnout for the Democratic ticket. I suspect because President Obama is running effectively unopposed, the turnout will be lighter this year."

Pat Cousins and Wanda Koch said Scio Township Precinct 1 inside the had rougly 45 voters by 9:15 a.m.

"We had a steady flow," Cousins said. "One guy was here waiting to vote before the polls opened at 7 a.m."

Deb Ceo, Dexter Township election supervisor, said as of 9:40 a.m. roughly 100 voters have filed a ballot in precinct 2 at the township hall.

"Turnout has been fairly light," she said. "I don't know what to expect (for the rest of the day.)"
