Friday Night Movie

  • Where:
  • When: 6:30 p.m. Friday
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why go?: Enjoy a free flick, part of the library's Friday movie series for adults. The evening's pick is The Grace Card, a story about a man who loses his faith after one of his sons dies. The movie stars Michael Joiner, Mike Higgenbottom and Louis Gossett, Jr.

The Unusual Suspects Play Terry B's

  • Where:
  • When: 9 p.m. Friday
  • Pricing: No cover charge
  • Why go?: Stop at Terry B's for a bite, a beverage and some live music by the Unusual Suspects, who'll play their mix of classic and modern rock, funk, country and more. Drink specials will be available, too.

St. Vladimir's Annual Nativity Ball

  • Where: Cobblestone Farm, 2781 Packard Rd., Ann Arbor
  • When: Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., with a 7 p.m. dinner on Friday.
  • Pricing: $55 for dinner and dance, or $20 for the dance only.
  • Why go?: Dress up in your formal best and head over to Cobblestone Farm for St. Vladimir's annual Nativity Ball. You'll dance, enjoy games and contests, entertainment, a cash bar and more. (Plus, dinner, if you're inclined.) Proceeds help the church building fund and parish ministries, which assist area needy.

Elegant Wedding Bridal Show

  • Where: Briarwood Mall, , Ann Arbor
  • When: Noon-5 p.m. Sunday
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Get ideas for your special day at this bridal show, where you'll enjoy fashion shows, giveaways, meet vendors and more. For details, visit www.elegantweddingshows.com.

More events

  • Bernhardt on Broadway, a one-woman show about the life of eccentric and legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt. The show takes place at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Towsley Auditorium, Washtenaw Community College. Tickets are $25.
  • Music for a New Year, a concert by the Ann Arbor Concert Band at Hill Auditorium, University of Michigan, downtown Ann Arbor, featuring music by Jenkins, Husa, Wagner and more. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 seniors/students, free for children 12 and younger.
