Small businesses are the backbone of our community — so tell us which places we can't pass up in our coverage.
Patch is a place where users decide what's important to their community, so why should we tell you which local businesses to pay attention to?
Instead, you tell us.
To help promote the importance of shopping locally, we want you to decide which businesses should be featured in Dexter Patch this holiday season.
Here's how:
- Leave a comment on this article telling us which business (or businesses) you think deserve a feature story in Dexter Patch.
- Post a photo of something awesome you bought (dinner, an accessory, a massage gift certificate) from a Dexter business. Do that by clicking the "Upload Photos and Videos" button.
- Review your favorite businesses in our Patch Places directory.
You have until 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 5 to make your voice heard. Restaurants, services, shops—they're all fair game, as long as they're local.
When all is said and done, we'll visit with area businesses and feature one per week every Sunday through December.

Hackney hardware has really been though the thick and the thin of the changes. They continue to provide excellent products with knowleable staff. Even though Lowes is around the corner, I buy as much as indeed from our hometown shop

Roger that - Hackney is probably the best hardware store in the world. Lafontaine has built a very nice dealership, and deserves a look. Mark's Auto can fix anything, and they do. There has to be more off Main St. business that deserve a look as well.

Dexter Pharmacy. Friendly, competent staff. If they don't stock it they are happy to see if it can be ordered. I think they offer many services and products that the general public may not be aware of.
