Despite school lunch price hikes across the country, the price of lunch in Dexter Community Schools will stay the same as the 2010-2011 school year. A provision of the federal government’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, signed by President Barack Obama last year, requires school lunch prices average above $2.49. The law mandates that every district adjust its meal prices to ensure the overall rate is comparable with federal reimbursement rates.
