Each week, the Humane Society of Huron Valley tells us a little about one of the adoptable pets in their shelter. If you are looking for a pet, visit the Humane Society of Huron Valley first. You will find wonderful cats and dogs in every size, age and color, and each one of them is ready and eager to share a lifetime of love with you and your family. If you’ve been interested in a certain breed, HSHV is still the place to begin your search. One out of every five animals coming into our shelter is a purebred. Scout is an eight-month-old pit bull mix who, with his freckled white coat, is cute as a button. He was relinquished by his owners who could not care for him properly. He is a very smart and super-sweet little pup. He’s young and energetic, so he's looking for an active family that's ready to do lots of running and playing. Scout loves squeaky toys and loves to play in the snow.Scout is a recent graduate of a special training called Michigan Inmates Providing Assistance Work & Service, a joint venture of the …

Kipper is a fun gal who would love to spend her days playing, napping and purring as close to you as possible. The shelter, located at 3100 Cherry Hill Rd. in Ann Arbor, is open for adoptions from noon to 6 p.…

Unfortunately, Stella had no identification, and we could not locate her family. Stella is a sweet older dog. She is about 8 years old and is happier on the couch with you than playing with balls. In fact, she loves to take small walks and then nap. Stella walks well on her leash. Hounds do not make good apartment pets, so Stella will need a home with a fenced yard so she could not become lost again. A quiet home would be wonderful for …
