Blood Drive and More at the Dexter Library This Week

There's always something happening at the Dexter District Library.

Here are four events happening this week at the Dexter District Library:

1. Red Cross Blood Drive:
Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 1:00PM - 6:45PM. Pre-register @ http://www.redcrossblood.org. Sponsor code: dexterlibrary Contact Library Director Paul McCann for more information.

2. DIY Crafts: For Grades 5 – 12. It’s time to clean out our supply closet. A wide assortment of craft supplies will be available. Stop in and get creative. This is a Drop-In Program - no registration required!

3. Microsoft Excel 2013: Working hands-on at a computer, you will learn how to create basic workbook files using Excel 2013. Discover how to organize data more efficiently using spreadsheets. Discover how to setup a workbook to meet your informational needs. Practice different ways to duplicate, move, and edit data. You'll be using one of our computers, please do not bring your own computer! Registration is required and seating is limited, call or stop by the Adult Reference Desk to register.

4. Muffins-N-Movies: Lincoln - Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field. Rated PG-13; 150 minutes. As the Civil War continues to rage, America's president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves. This film chronicles the President's time in office between 1861 and 1865 as he dealt with personal demons and politics during the Civil War.
