Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival Starts Thursday

5 things you need to know about the Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival.

Here's what you need to know about the Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival:

1. Tuesday was the first day of registration for the Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival. Starting Thursday, events will be held throughout the Dexter community.

2. Thursday at 4 p.m. there will be a painting demonstration in Monument Park by Susan Amstutz. At 7 p.m. there will be a History of Plein Air Painting Presentation by Martha Girsch at the Dexter District Library.

3. Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Dexter Community Schools Student Light Pole Banner Contest Artwork will be on display in Monument Park. Students who submitted artwork can pick it up starting at 8:00 p.m.

4. Saturday from 2:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. Artwork created during the week will be on display and available for sale in Monument Park. 30% of the proceeds from each painting goes back to the Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee to promote art in the community. The Dexter Community Orchestra will be performing in Monument Park from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
