It's a week into school, and hopefully everyone is getting settled in.
If you are looking for a way to get involved and support your child's teachers, Dexter parent Jennifer Kangas started a group called Friends of Dexter Community Schools. Join the facebook group to share thoughts and participate. The group is open to people with different perspectives and different political ideas.
The point is to come together and support local schools in meaningful ways. New friends are always welcome, and the group also meets in person.

Also, if anyone is interested, the first school board meeting of the school year is Monday night at 7pm in the Creekside media center. There are two opportunities for public participation if you have something you'd like to share. It looks like it will be a short meeting and will include a SRSLY Coalition presentation by Stephanie Jacques. You can find out what else is on the agenda at this link.
