Chelsea Lanes Offers Discount Bowling

Here are some fun kid-centered activities coming up this weekend.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter is holding a hands-on learning program titled "Better to Eat With You" at 1 p.m. Saturday. Call 734-426-8211 to register.

Why go?: This is a great hands-on program where kids of all ages will explore and learn about a variety of animal skulls and teeth. Small, big, pointed and flat ... teeth come in all shapes and sizes.

Cost:  $3 per person. 

Where/When: The library will host "Water Wonders" at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Why go?: Take the kids, ages 6 and older, to the library for a morning of science fun. "Water Wonders" is a hands-on workshop presented by the University of Michigan Exhibit Museum of Natural History. Registration is required.

Cost: Free.

Where/When: Champion Gymnastics, 240 Metty Dr. in Ann Arbor, will hold open gymnastics 5 -7 p.m Friday. Call 734-222-1810 for more information.

Why go?: Kids of all ages can practice their tumbling and jumping skills and tricks with use of the entire gym. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost: $10 per child.

Where/When: Bundle up and head to Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter for a day of cross-country skiing fun. The ski touring/activity center is open weekends 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Call 734-426-8211 for more information.

Why go?: Enjoy the more than six miles of beautiful, picturesque trails at the park. The trails have varied terrain and can accommodate all skill levels. All ages are welcome.

Cost: Varies from $2 per person for poles only up to $10 per person for a half day of full equipment rental. 

Where/When: Take the family bowling at Chelsea Lanes, 1180 S. Main St. in Chelsea, this weekend.

Why go?: Print this coupon and get one free game of bowling, or take $5 off a one-hour block of bowling family fun.

Cost: $3.50 per game per person, or $18 per hour.
