Dexter Residents Thankful for Friends, Family, Health This Year

Dexter residents recently shared with Dexter Patch some of the things they're thankful for this year.

As Dexter residents prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving today with friends and family, a few shared all they have to be thankful for this year.

Jim and Sue Carson said they are thankful for their five grandchildren.

"They all live close enough to us that we can be part of their lives on a regular basis," Jim Carson said. "We know a lot of grandparents that do not have the opportunity to do that."

Allison Bishop, community development director for Dexter Village, said she is thankful for her family, the health of her family and friends and "the great community that I live and work in and for."

, a local resident and Patch.com contributor, said she is thankful for a healthy family, gainful employment and her "loving and loyal friends."

Mary Marshall, superintendent at , said she is thankful for "the amazing staff who give so much to support the children of this community and the families who work in partnership with us each day."

"I am thankful to spend each day in a community that is proud of its heritage and looks to the future to find ways to improve its service to all," Marshall said.

Steve DeBruyne, assistant artistic director at the , said he is thankful for all of his friends in Dexter.

"I'm thankful for a successful third season in Dexter with The Encore Musical Theatre Company and in particular, thankful for this incredibly generous and supportive community," DeBruyne said. "I'm also thankful for the people who have come to see me perform onstage and who keep this company growing. Over the past year I've met many new friends at The Encore and look forward to another great year in 2012 in Dexter."
