Fight Hunger With a Donation to Patch's Virtual Food Drive

You've purchased and donated $1,304 worth of groceries to Gleaners Community Food Bank, putting us closer to our goal of raising $10,000 to help feed the area's hungry families.

Thanks to your generous donations, we've raised $1,304 towards our goal of $10,000 to feed families in your area through our online food drive. This virtual food drive runs through Saturday, Nov. 17, and is the first for the Gleaners Community Food Bank. The 30 Michigan Patch sites are proud and honored to be their first partner.

Please click the shopping link above and select items from the virtual grocery shelves. When you check out, be sure to select a Patch from the drop down menu to ensure your donation is designated for that community.

Gleaners does not serve Washtenaw County, but any funds donated through Dexter Patch will go to Food Gatherers of Ann Arbor, which distributes food to all of Washtenaw County.

Thanks for your donations and support.

I love the idea of a virtual food drive. What could be more simple? You go to the link, look around the "store" and choose what you would like to donate. Then Food Gatherers of Ann Arbor will take care of the actual shopping and delivery to families in Washtenaw County. Please consider supporting the Patch virtual food drive. It's been a tough year for many local families. It's important to note that you also get better prices at the virtual store; your money will go farther. A 5 lb bag of apples is only 54¢ and 5 lb of ground beef is only $7.60. Granola bars go for 86¢ a box.
