Library Offers Crafts, Bingo for Teens

Here is a look at some of the events going on around Dexter this weekend.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you information on the five best family activities or events for the week.

  • Bingo for Books

Where/when: , 1-2 p.m. Thursday.

  • Drop-in Crafts and Anime

Where/when: Dexter District Library, 1-3 p.m. Friday. Drop-in craft for all ages is from 1-3 p.m. After-school anime is from 1-2:30 p.m. for Grades 6-12. 

Why go? School is out early, so head to the library for some fun crafting or some after-school anime on the big screen and traditional Japanese snacks. Call 734-426-4477 for more information.

  • Chelsea Area Players presents Disney’s Aladdin Jr.

Where/when: George Prinzing Auditorium, 500 Washington St. in Chelsea, 3 p.m. Sunday.

Why go? See all of your favorite characters in this beloved Disney classic, performed by talented Chelsea youth. Contact Tammy Peterson at tammyprn4@gmail.com for more information.

Cost: $8 in advance, $10 at the door

  • Roller skating

Where/when: Rollerama Family Skating Center, 6995 W. Grand River in Brighton. 1-7 p.m. Saturday. Call 810-220-2010 for more information.

Why go? Rediscover roller skating!

Cost: $7 per person

  • Lazer Tag

Where/when: Lazer Planet and Arcade, 3219 Broad St. in Dexter. 3-10 p.m. Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday. Call 734-253-2189 for more information.

Why go? This is a fun and exciting way to get exercise.

Cost: $5 for one seven-minute game, $13 for two 12-minute games.
