Loch Alpine Residents Offer $1,000 Reward for Vandalism Information

Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department seeks tips leading to arrest of suspects.

Information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in the March 13 of the Loch Alpine subdivision in Webster Township just got a little more valuable.

The Ann Arbor Country Club announced this week that it is matching the $500 reward offered by the Loch Alpine Improvement Association.

"They are not part of the neighborhood, but the country club has been vandalized before and they want to catch who is doing this," Mindy Kerr, a member of the Safety and Securities committee for the subdivision said.

Washtenaw County Sheriff's Sgt. Beth Gieske said the suspects reportedly spray painted several mailboxes in red with the numbers 420 and 11. Kerr said the graffiti was found on homes, garages, mailboxes, street signs and on the ground.

Homeowner Kathy Pawlicki said her property was among the hardest hit.

According to an article on ClickOnDetroit.com, Pawlicki said a large picture of male genitalia was spray painted on the side of her home.

"From the sheriff's office side, the investigation is ongoing and we are following up with information provided to us from the community," Gieske said in an email.

Kerr said the vandalism occurred almost a year to the date that park benches in the neighborhood were vandalized by unknown suspects.

"As it gets warmer out, we are going to be keeping an eye out for suspicious activity," Kerr said. "This is very uncommon for our community."
