Road Improvements to Cause Lane Restrictions in Dexter

For the next two weeks residents in Dexter will see lane restrictions on several roads throughout the area.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission started road improvements in the area, and they are expected to continue for the next two weeks.

The work was initially set to be completed earlier, but recent weather has delayed the projects.

The Road Commission will be applying chip seal surface to the following roads in Dexter:

  • Island Lake Rd, Lima Center to Dancer
  • Stofer Rd, N. Territorial Rd to Island Lake Rd
  • N. Territorial Rd, M-52 to Madden Rd
  • Fairway Dr, Stofer Rd to Hayrake Hollow
  • Hay Rake Hollow, Riker Rd south 1,932’
"To ensure the safety of road crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of the construction activities, including personnel and equipment, and reduce speeds accordingly," the Road Commission states in a press release on their website. "During the placement of the hot asphalt, pedestrians and bicyclists should keep clear of the area; burns are possible from contact with hot asphalt."
