Washtenaw County will Expedite Building Permits for Residents Affected by the Dexter Tornado

Homeowners can contact the Washtenaw County Building Inspection Division for information on permits.

The Washtenaw County Building Inspection Division will be giving priority to permit applications that are submitted as a result of the March 15 tornado that damaged over 100 homes and businesses in Dexter.

Residents who submit permit applications for work on homes and businesses damaged by the storm will be processed as expeditiously as possible, according to a press release from the Washtenaw County Building Inspection Division.

“Our building inspectors have been on the scene as part of the team assessing the damage from the tornado,” said Dick Fleece, department director. “They have seen firsthand the extent of the devastation in that area. Our goal is to see everyone back in their homes as quickly and as safely as possible.”
