Aubree's Pizza Franchise Opens Doors in Dexter

The new pizzeria is greeted warmly by local patrons.

In a flurry of excitement, Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill officially opened its doors to the public on Monday after three months of preparation, which included a blitz one-day job fair.

“It has always been a dream of mine to open a restaurant,” General Manager Lisa Morden said. “I love people and I’m very excited to be here in Dexter.”

The restaurant fills a void in the downtown business district after the of the North Point Seafood & Steakhouse earlier this year.

Morden said the building has undergone a massive renovation that includes changes to the layout of the kitchen and bar area, a new buffet area for an all-you-can-eat lunch menu, an outdoor patio and VIP room for large parties.

“Our goal is to have a place families can come to as well as a place for the bar crowd,” Morden said. “It’s got a little bit of everything.”

The menu includes a selection of pizzas ($11.99-$16.99 gourmet; $7.99-$11.99 regular), sandwiches ($8.99), appetizers ($4.49-$7.49) as well as beer and other beverages. The lunch buffet costs $7.99 and runs daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

As part of the restaurant’s grand opening, it will offer $2.75 well drinks and half-off calzones all week.

Morden said she is also pleased to include several Michigan-made products as well as a staff of 70 who reside in the Dexter and Ann Arbor area.

Addressing fears that the new restaurant will take business away from other local eateries, Morden said she hopes to work with the other downtown restaurants.

“We have a policy that we’re not allowing anyone to work in our establishment within 30 days of leaving another local business,” she said.

On Monday, customers piled into Aubree’s to get a taste of its offerings.

“I think it’s excellent,” Paul Keenan said. “The service is friendly and there is an amazing variety. I’m glad there’s a place like this in Dexter. It’s a nice option for the community.”

Alice Munson of Livonia agreed.

“We’ll be coming back,” she said. “The service was outstanding.”

Dexter resident Jessica Pelleran said she enjoyed the menu’s diversity.

“I love Aubree’s and now I don’t have to go far to find one,” she said.

This week, Aubree's will be open from 4-11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday and 4-10 p.m. Sunday.

Aubree's regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
