CCH's Diabetes Center offers a comprehensive approach to managing diabetes. It includes education for people with diabetes and their families, as well as care from a board-certified endocrinologist.

CCH diabetes educators, in partnership with the patient’s primary care physician, assist in developing a personalized education plan for patients. Sessions are offered one-on-one or in a group.

“We are pleased to be offering this valuable service at our hospital,” said Kathleen Griffiths, CCH president and CEO. “These services are much-needed in our community, and now we can offer comprehensive care for diabetes, close to home. Ann Arbor Endocrinology and Diabetes Associates is a well-respected group of physicians who will enhance the exceptional care that our patients have come to expect at Chelsea.”

The center will provide information on nutrition and meal planning, understanding food labels, medications and side effects, recognizing and treating low blood sugar, coping with diabetes, foot care, diabetes complications, sick-day guidelines, setting diabetes management goals and exercise opportunities at the Chelsea Wellness Center.

Those who have more complicated cases of diabetes may find that seeing an endocrinologist can help them manage and treat symptoms and minimize complications.
