Dexter Bakery Shirt is a Hot Commodity Among Customers

The local business is promoting National Bakery Month in June.

In preparation for National Bakery Month in June, the is offering two new T-shirts for customers to purchase.

The shirts, which read “Life is great … cupcakes make it better,” and “Life is great … bakeries make it better” are available for a limited time for $14. The shirts come in youth sizes (small, medium and large) and adult (small, medium, large, and extra large).

Local mom, former bakery employee and cupcake advocate Amy Luczak,  already bought a T-shirt, indicating she loved its message.

"We, as a community need to focus on the fact that food is a gift to nourish our bodies and souls," she said. "Power to the cupcake!"

Karen Dudek, the bakery's owner, said she only ordered a small amount of shirts, but depending on how they sell, she may order a second run.

In addition to the shirts, Dudek said the bakery is planning several specials throughout June.

“I’m not sure what we’ll be doing, but we’ll have some specials,” she said.

Dudek said with the school year coming to a close and graduation parties, the bakery has stayed relatively busy.

“This is a great time of the year for us,” she said. “There’s a lot going on.”

The Dexter Bakery is open Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
