“After the success of the 2011 auction, we are happy to return to AACC for this year’s event,” said Jennifer Wagner, co-chair of the auction. “It was very important for us to hold our event within the Dexter school district in order to show our support and appreciation for the Dexter Community."
The evening will feature a strolling supper, cocktails, desserts, great live music and both a silent and live auction.
A new feature this year includes a jewelry raffle in which attendees enter by purchasing one of 20 glasses of champagne available at the event. Each glass will hold one pair of faux diamond earrings and one lucky purchaser will win a pair of real diamond earrings courtesy of Lewis Jewelers of Ann Arbor.
For the second year in a row, a Golden Doodle puppy will be part of the live auction. This was so popular last year among dog lovers in attendance that it was the top bid item of the evening.
In addition, raffle tickets are available for $20 ticket/3 for $50 for prizes including a Toshiba 55” LED TV, a maize and blue lap quilt and $100 cash. Raffle tickets may be purchased from EFD Trustees, Ann Arbor Country Club or Dexter Orthodontics. The raffle drawing will be held during the auction and winners do not need to be present to win.
The EFD is also pleased to announce this year’s Gold Sponsor, LaFontaine Automotive Group, and its exciting donations of a weekend with a Chevy Volt and a weekend with a Chevy Camaro.
“Dexter schools have been the foundation of our community,” said Matt LaFontaine of LaFontaine Automotive Group. “Having lived here for over 15 years with my children, I have seen this firsthand. Our decision to reinvest in Dexter was strongly influenced by the strength of Dexter's award winning schools. Our beautiful community is the reason that people come to Dexter and our schools are the reason that families decide to stay and build generations."
All funds raised will go to support grants requested by Dexter teachers for learning experiences otherwise unavailable through the school budget. Thus far in the 2011-2012 school year, the Educational Foundation of Dexter has funded 25 new grants totaling over $32,000 for a broad range of student programs and teacher training, touching students in every school in the district.
Tickets are $75 each and may be purchased online using PayPal at www.efdexter.org. Click on the EFD 2012 Auction page for more information. To donate items for the auction, please contact us at auction@efdexter.org.
