Pipeline Construction Closes Roads in Lima Township

Jerusalem Road, Trinkle Road, and Beach Road will be closed during the construction of the Enbridge pipeline beginning Jan. 18.

A planned construction of a crude oil pipeline running through Washtenaw County will force several road closures in Lima Township this week.

Jerusalem Road will be closed for two days beginning Jan. 18. Other planned road closures include Trinkle Road on Jan. 21, and Beach Road on Jan. 23.

The pipeline is operated by Enbridge Pipelines Toledo, Inc. and is part of the company's Line 79, which will expand the company’s crude oil delivery to the Detroit refinery of Marathon Petroleum Corporation LLC and Toledo's BP-Husky Refinery.

According to Ann Arbor.com, the new Line 79 will run parallel to Enbridge’s existing Line 17, which is routed from the Stockbridge junction of Line 6B in Ingham County to a junction in Freedom Township in Washtenaw County.

Pipeline construction will continue throughout the winter, with a project completion date in March.
