According to owner Mike Jackson, the event is an alternative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
"It’s a way to remind the community to shop local and keep your money local," Jackson said. "I came up with the idea because I think its a nice way to give back to the community."
Jackson said he approached the Chelsea School District about donating a portion of sales throughout the weekend to the district.
"Our stellar schools draw people to the community, who then shop at our downtown stores," Jackson said. "I think its important to support the district anyway that we, as merchants, are able to do."
Chelsea Gold will be held today and Sunday. The store will provide free gift-wrapping and refreshments.
The fundraiser takes place from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The store is located at 109 S. Main St., in Chelsea.
