12 Days of Christmas: Shop Michigan Made Products at Dexter Mill

Each day through Dec. 24 Patch will feature a sale or special going on in Dexter and Chelsea for last-minute holiday shoppers.

If you've still got Christmas gifts to buy and no ideas, don't panic. From now through Dec. 24, Patch will feature one local deal, business, or charity to help making your gift-giving a little easier.

Today's local gift idea comes from the Dexter Mill.

Store Manager Keri Romine says the store has the perfect gift for moms, dads, grandparents, and even Fido.

"We have a lot of Michigan-made products and products made in the United States," Romine said.

The mill boasts a large selection of dog beds, bird feeders, Michigan-made honey and food products, Stormy Kromer brand hats and mittens, flannel shirts, Fox River socks, and West Paw dog toys, among others.

Now through the end of December, customers can purchase a women's Carhartt sweater for $39.95.

Romine said the store has seen some increased foot traffic, but expects business to pick-up as the rainy days slowly turn to snow.

"A lot of people think that we just cater to farmers, but we have a lot of neat stuff right now that can make some nice gifts," she said.

The Dexter Mill is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
