1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a 70 percent chance of snow showers today, with a high near 34 degrees. Friday night will be a chance of snow showers before 9 p.m., with a low around 24 degrees.

2. Movie screening: Elf

The Dexter High School Key Club is sponsoring a free movie night at 7 p.m. Dec. 21. The movie Elf and will be showing in the Center for Performing Arts at the high school. The Key Club will be accepting donations for the Huron Valley Humane Society.

3. Movie screening: The Nativity Story

This biblical drama focuses on the life of the Virgin Mary before the birth of Christ. As the faith of Mary and Joseph is tested, the couple’s beliefs lead them to Bethlehem where Jesus is born in the humble surroundings of a stable. The movie will be shown at 2 p.m. at the Dexter District Library.

5. This day in history

Dec. 21,1988: On this day in 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 from London to New York exploded in midair over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew members aboard.
