1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a chance of rain and snow showers before 7 a.m., then snow showers likely. Today will be cloudy, with temperatures falling to around 23 degrees by 5 p.m. Tuesday night there will be scattered snow showers, with a low around 13 degrees.

2. Dexter Township meeting

The Dexter Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the township hall. A copy of the agenda can be downloaded online at http://www.twp-dexter.org/.

3. Bathtub Bouquets

Children and their parents invited to make their own special bubble bath mixture and potpourri based on natural scents at Matthaei Botanical Gardens, 1800 N. Dixboro Road, today from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $5.

4. Gas prices

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Monday night:

  • $3.84 a gallon (regular) BP, 200 Baker Rd.
  • $3.89 a gallon (regular), Sunoco, 2940 Baker Rd.
  • $3.85 a gallon (regular), Pilot Service Station, 195 Baker Rd.

5. This day in history

Feb. 19, 1878: The technology that made the modern music business possible came into existence in the New Jersey laboratory where Thomas Alva Edison created the first device to both record sound and play it back.
