2. Free Alzheimer's informational meetings
The Alzheimer’s Association and Silver Maples Retirement Community are offering free informational meetings in Chelsea, beginning today. Sessions will be held 10:30 a.m. to noon each Wednesday in February. Today: "Understanding Late-Stage Alzheimer’s Disease & Caregiver Stress," featuring Julie Duesing, Alzheimer’s Association program coordinator.

3. Town Hall Meeting
The village of Dexter will host a town hall meeting on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Dexter District Library. Community members are welcome to attend this open forum with village council.

5. This day in history
Feb. 6, 1952: On this day in 1952, after a long illness, King George VI of Great Britain and Northern Ireland died in his sleep at the royal estate at Sandringham.
