The National Weather Service predicts today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 44 degrees. Tonight it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees.

2. Ice rink closed

The village's ice rink is closed indefinitely until conditions allow for ice to freeze. Check the village's Facebook page for updates.

3. Girls basketball

Come support the freshmen, junior varsity and varsity girls' basketball teams today beginning at 4 p.m. The teams will face-off against Ypsilanti Lincoln High School.

5. This day in history

Jan. 10, 2000: On this day, in one of the biggest media mergers in history, America Online Inc. announced plans to acquire Time Warner Inc. for some $182 billion in stock and debt, accoding to History.com. The result was a $350 billion mega-corporation, AOL Time Warner, which held dominant positions in every type of media.
