1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts rain showers likely before 4 p.m., then rain and snow showers likely in the evening, with a high near 41 degrees. Thursday evening there is a 90 percent chance of snow, with accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.

2. St. Andrew's Piece-makers quilt group meets

Chef Ming Louie will be in-house making authentic Chinese egg rolls at the today at 2 p.m. You'll get a bit of hands-on experience, sample what you've made, and take something home as well. The class is open to the public.

5. This day in history

Jan. 12, 1926: The two-man comedy series "Sam 'n' Henry" debuts on Chicago's WGN radio station. Two years later, after changing its name to "Amos 'n' Andy," the show became one of the most popular radio programs in American history, according to History.com.
