1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 34 degrees. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 23 degrees.

2. Junior varsity and varsity basketball

The junior varsity and varsity basketball teams will take on Stockbridge at home today beginning at 4:30 p.m. Come support your Dreadnaughts.

3. Registration due for middle school bowling teams

The Dexter Community Schools Community Education Department will close registration for bowling teams for grades 6 and 7 on Jan. 27. To register, visit www.onlinedexter.com and reference code 62. Bowling starts Feb. 4 and takes place on Saturdays.

4. Gas prices

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Monday night:

  • $3.24 a gallon (regular), $3.75 (diesel), BP, 200 Baker Rd.

5. This day in history

Jan. 24, 1935: Canned beer makes its debut on this day in 1935, according to History.com. In partnership with the American Can Company, the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company delivered 2,000 cans of Krueger's Finest Beer and Krueger's Cream Ale to faithful Krueger drinkers in Richmond, VA.
