5 Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 26

We've got weather, gas prices and some suggestions on how to spend your day.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a 40 percent chance of rain today, with a high near 41 degrees. Thursday night there is a chance of rain and snow, with a low around 32 degrees.

2. Pick up tickets to see President Obama

President Obama is set to speak Friday at 9:35 a.m. on the University of Michigan campus. Obama will be speaking at the Al Glick Field House.

If you wish to see President Obama, you must have a free ticket to the event. Tickets will be made available on a first come, first served basis today starting at 9 a.m. at the Michigan Union ticket office, 530 South State St. in Ann Arbor.

3. St. Andrew's Piece-makers quilt group meets

The meet from 9-11 a.m. every Thursday at in Dexter. The group is always looking for new members who have an interest in quilting. For more information about the Piece-makers, email Elaine Owsley at efowsley@earthlink.net.
