The National Weather Service predicts  today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 43 degrees. Monday night it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 29 degrees.

2. Village Council meets

The Dexter Village Council at 7:30 p.m. at the . The council will consider creating an Industrial Development District for MedHub, located at 3515 Broad St.

3. Picture request

The Village of Dexter is currently working on developing a new website. It would like to incorporate photos that feature the town. If you have any photos that you would like us to consider using, e-mail villagewebphotos@gmail.com. All pictures used on the site will be credited with the photographer's name.

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Sunday night:

5. This day in history

Jan. 9, 1776: According to History.com, on this day, writer Thomas Paine publishes his pamphlet "Common Sense," setting forth his arguments in favor of American independence. Although little used today, pamphlets were an important medium for the spread of ideas in the 16th through 19th centuries.
