1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts today will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97 degrees. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 70 degrees.

2. Nominate your favorite Dexter area business for an award

Dexter Patch's ends July 8. Review the nominations online and make a few of your own. You can nominate as many businesses as you want (even ones outside of Dexter) in 25 different categories.

3. Water Usage

The village is experiencing an unprecedented demand for water on weekdays from 6-8 a.m. To help reduce this demand village officials are asking that residents/business owners change the timing on lawn irrigation systems to either before 5 a.m. or after 9 a.m.

5. This day in history

June 28, 1914: On this day in 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie were shot to death by a Bosnian Serb nationalist during an official visit to the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo.
