2. Beatles Tribute Band Performs in Dexter

The BackBeats, a Beatles Tribute Band, will perform at the 2012 in Dexter tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

3. On Golden Pond opens at the Purple Rose Theatre

Ernest Thompson's American classic story follows Ethel and Norman Thayer as they return to their summer home in Maine. Their respite is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of their estranged daughter, her fiancé, and his teenage son. Over the course of the summer, an unlikely friendship develops between Norman and the boy, which sparks a renewed zest for life in the Thayer family. 5. This day in history

June 29, 1967: On this day blonde bombshell actress Jayne Mansfield was killed instantly when the car in which she was riding struck the rear of a trailer truck on Interstate-90 east of New Orleans.
