5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 2

Here is a look at what's going on today around the Dexter area.

It's Friday! We've included a weather update, gas prices and some suggestions on how to spend the weekend.

1. The weather

 The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of rain and thunderstorms mainly after 1 p.m. There is a chance of rain and snow between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. on Friday night. Saturday there is a 30 percent chance of snow showers, with a high near 40 degrees.

2. Knights of Columbus Fish Fry

The will serve up their annual fish fry during Lent. The menu includes all-you-can-eat baked or pan-fried fish, deep fried breaded shrimp, french fries or baked potatoes, a full salad bar, macaroni and cheese, and a cash bar that includes pop, water, wine and beer. Adults are $10, kids $6. Drive-through takeout $9.

3. Iddy Biddy Art Club

Every other Friday the Chelsea Center for the Arts hosts this event for preschoolers and their parents. This class offers a charming combination of a favorite storybook and a tie-in arts project. The cost is $3 for the first child and $5 for two or more. To register call 734-433-2787. The class is held at 10 a.m.
