2. Dexter School District budget overview

Dexter Community Schools will hold the second of two with parents tonight at 7 p.m. at . Superintendent Mary Marshall will address parents' questions about the budget process for the 2012-2013 school year.

3. Purple Rose Theatre Concert Reading of Jeff Daniels' The Meaning of Almost Everything

Join the actors of the Purple Rose Theatre as they present a staged reading of Jeff Daniels' new play, The Meaning of Almost Everything, tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Ann Arbor District Library. Admission is free.

5. This day in history

May 1, 2003: A record-breaking wave of tornadoes began across the southern and midwestern United States on this day in 2003.
