The Encore Musical Theatre in Dexter will present Nunsense, written by Dan Goggin, beginning May 18. Tonight's opening show is at 8 p.m. Tickets for all performances are on sale now, and may be purchased by calling the box office at 734-268-6200, or online at www.theencoretheatre.org.

3. Watch War Horse at the Dexter District Library

The Dexter District Library will show the film War Horse today at 2 p.m. The story follows Albert Narracott (Jeremy Irvine) during World War I. Albert enlists to serve in the Army after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry.

May 18, 1896: In a major victory for supporters of racial segregation, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled seven to one that a Louisiana law providing for "equal but separate accommodations for the white and colored races" on its railroad cars is constitutional (Plessy versus Ferguson).
