1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies today, with a high near 70 degrees. Tuesday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 49 degrees.

2. Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner

The Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce will present community awards to buisnesses that were unable to attend the chamber's awards banquet on March 15 due to the Dexter tornado. The event will take place at today at 5:30 p.m. Attendance is free to all members that RSVP'd and paid for the initial annual dinner, and $10 for the public. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided.

3. Creekside Band Spring Concert

Students at Creekside Intermediate School will perform a spring concert at the Dexter High School Performing Arts Center today at 7 p.m. The concert is free to the public.

5. This day in history

May 22, 1843: On this day, a massive wagon train, made up of 1,000 settlers and 1,000 head of cattle, set off down the Oregon Trail from Independence, Miss.
