1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts today will be sunny, with a high near 66 degrees. Wednesday night there is a chance of showers after 2 a.m., with partly cloudy skies and a low around 45 degrees.

2. Crafty Readers Club

The Dexter District Library is looking for students in the second and third grade to join the Crafty Readers Club. An information session will be held at the library today beginning at 4:30 p.m.

3. Chelsea Marching Band Invitational

The Chelsea Marching Band Invitational will take place today at Chelsea High School beginning at 5 p.m. at Chelsea High School. Bands from Chelsea, Dexter, Manchester, Saline, and Stockbridge will perform. The cost is $5 or $3 for students and seniors.

4. Gas prices

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the following gasoline prices in the Dexter area as of Tuesday night:

  • $3.98 a gallon (regular) BP, 200 Baker Rd.
  • $4.09 a gallon (regular), Sunoco, 2940 Baker Rd.
  • $3.99 a gallon (regular), Pilot Service Station, 195 Baker Rd.
  • $3.99 a gallon (regular), Pilot Service Station, 750 Baker Rd.

5. This day in history

Sept. 19, 2002: On this day, President George W. Bush asked Congress to grant him the authority to use any means necessary against Iraq Dictator Saddam Hussein.
