Here's a look at some events going on around the Dexter area today.

1. The weather

The National Weather Service predicts a chance of showers after 3 p.m. today, with partly sunny skies and a high near 68 degrees. Friday night there is a chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m. Saturday there is a slight chance of showers before 8 a.m., then showers after 2 p.m.

2. Muffins & Movies

The Dexter District Library will show the film Munich at 2 p.m. today. The story takes place after the events of Black September. Prime Minister Golda Meir okays a black-box operation to hunt down and kill all of the terrorists involved in the assassination of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972.

3. Superior Doughnuts preview at the Purple Rose

Catch a preview of the upcoming show at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea. Regular performances for the duration of the run are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.purplerosetheatre.org/

5. This day in history

Sept. 21, 1780: On this day in 1780, during the American Revolution, American Gen. Benedict Arnold met with British Maj. John Andre to discuss handing over West Point to the British, in return for the promise of a large sum of money and a high position in the British army.
