The National Weather Service predicts a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., with areas of fog before 9 a.m. Wednesday night there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 p.m.

2. Dexter High School Open House

Dexter High School will hold an open house today from 6-8 p.m. The open house takes place in the Center for Performing Arts. For more information, visit www.dexterschools.org.

3. Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee Opening

The Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee is seeking two new members. The cmmittee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. and is a 11-member committee that advises village council on the development of arts in Dexter; promotes and publicizes projects that support arts, culture and heritage; serves as advocates for arts, culture, and heritage; and encourages networking and collaborations of the arts, culture, and heritage. 5. This day in history

Sept. 5, 1972: In the early morning hours of Sept. 5, 1972 six members of the Arab terrorist group known as Black September dressed in the Olympic sweat suits of Arab nations and jumped the fence surrounding the Olympic village in Munich, Germany, carrying bags filled with guns. The terrrorists succeeded in taking nine hostages before demanding the release of 234 prisoners-most of whom were Arab terrorists. For more historic dates, visit www.history.com.
