Art Reception, Quilt Sale Planned at Dexter District Library

Quilts large and small are on display at the library. Meet the artists behind the quilts on Friday.

The will host a reception and meet and greet with local artists whose quilts are currently on display at the library.

The reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The public is invited to come and meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments. Artists attending the reception include Jill Ault, Mary Bajcz, Kathleen Campau, Mary Gentry, Sue Holdaway-Heys and Gretchen Jackson. Pieces from the show will be available for purchase.

Entertainment will be provided by Dexter area youth musicians. Under the direction of Gordon Darr, these students will provide light background music for the event.

The reception will conclude the current exhibit, which will be removed on Dec. 19.

  • Holiday crafts at the library

Dexter District Library is offering plenty of fun activities this Saturday, including . Drop in at 11 a.m. for a teen holiday party, with snacks and crafts. Registration is required by calling 734-426-4477. From 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. there will be real reindeer from Carousel Acres stationed outside.

  • Book sale

The Friends of the Dexter District Library will hold a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2012. Come shop for great used books for friends and family while supporting the library's many programs.
