Business Leaders, Volunteers Share Experiences with Area Youth
Morning Star Child Care in Dexter teaches children about their community.
For two weeks each May, children enrolled at visit local businesses, and learn about various organizations in Dexter.
This year students visited , , and . Guest presentations included a fire truck visit from the Dexter Area Fire Department, an EMS visit from Huron Valley Ambulance, Heather Adiska from Adiska Family Dentistry in Pinckney, Mister Rubbish, the K-9 unit from the University of Michigan Police Department, and Dexter's Keith McCleary, "The Science Guy."
“We find that, when asked, professionals and businesses are more than willing to share their experiences with the children," Morning Star Director Carrie Anderson said.

Melissa Davenport, a preschool teacher with MSCC for more than four years, was one of the teachers who helped organize this year's speakers.
“I’m fortunate enough to have parents in my classrooms willing to take time off to share with the kids," she said.
