Clarion, Hudson Mills Host Easter Egg Hunts

Here's a look at some fun family-friendly events going on around Dexter this weekend.

From Easter egg hunts to live animal shows, Dexter Patch is your source for weekend events around town.

  • Chelsea’s Spring Business Expo

Where/when:  Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chelsea Senior Center, 512 E. Washington St. in Chelsea.

Why go?:  This is a fun, community focused event featuring businesses, crafters and many exciting and fun activities for kids.  There will be products and crafts for sale as well as freebies, raffles and a bake sale.  Kids’ activities include face painting, arcade games, a giant game of Twister, a viewing of Disney's Toy Story 3 in the auditorium and even a visit from Ronald McDonald.

  • Drop-In Story Time

Where/when:  Saturday at the from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why go?:  Pack up the kids and head to the library for some fun story times, snacks and the chance to see and pet some live baby farm animals.  This program is suitable for kids of all ages.  Registration is not required.  Call the library for more information, 734-426-4477.

Pricing:  Free

  • 18 and Under Dance Party at Club Alcatraz

Where/when:  Friday and Saturday, 8-11 p.m. at Great Escape Family Fun Center, 2630 E. Grand River St. in Howell.

Why go?:  This is a great chance for kids of all ages under 18 to hang out, dance, play games and make new friends, all in a safe, smoke-free, alcohol-free environment.

Pricing:  $5

  • Easter ‘Eggstravaganza’

Where/when:  Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Clarion Conference Center, 2900 Jackson Ave. in Ann Arbor.

Why go?:  This is a family friendly day of fun, including games, popcorn, Easter egg hunt and an iPod and Xbox 360 giveaway.  Call the Clarion for more information, 734-665-4444.

  • Easter Egg Scramble

Where/when:  Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Activity Center.

Why go?:  Come usher in spring and celebrate Easter a little early at Hudson Mills Metropark.  Kids will have the opportunity to pet farm animals, have their faces painted and visit with the Easter Bunny as well as participate in an exciting Easter egg hunt.
